Disks Into Donuts
Want to repurpose old CDs and DVDs? You're in the right place! Join us to make these Disks into Donuts!
Materials:
- White Paint/Gesso (Whatever white base material you have)
- Yellow/Brown paint for donut
- Any other color paint for frosting of donut (I used Pink!)
- 1 CD/DVD
- 1 pencil
- Extra colored pencils or paint for sprinkles as finishing details
- Paintbrushes
- A good covered workstation that you wouldn't mind getting paint on (IMPORTANT)
Step 1: Prime the Disk with White PaintI forgot to take a picture of this step, but just make sure to cover the disk above with 1 or 2 layers of the white paint!
Step 2: Make the base of the donut
Mix the brown and yellow paint that you have to get a golden brown color. This can be to your preference. Add some white too is the color is too dark!
Step 3: Paint the donut frosting
I painted the frosting pink to make a strawberry donut, but you can choose whatever color you would like! For example, brown for chocolate, white for vanilla, yellow for lemon, etc...
Step 4: Paint the final details
I chose to paint multicolored sprinkles but you can choose to make single colored sprinkles, a drizzle of chocolate, or any unique toppings of your choice! That is it! Now you have created your first ever donut out of an old disk! If you enjoy projects like this, make sure to check out more creations by A Kid's Guide to Krafting! Have fun :)
